The strategic plan covers the time frame 2010—2014 and forms an integral part of the work of the Sports Partnership. Building on the successful implementation of the first plan 2006-2009 it will guide and focus the work of the sports partnership, outline the partnership’s vision for sport/physical activity in the county, sets down goals and objectives over the next four years, and identifies partners with which such goals and objectives can be achieved. Four strategic themes have been identified in the strategic plan and they are increasing participation, training and education, facilities and amenities and, communication and co-ordination. The strategic plan was the result of a six month process which commenced in April 2010 with extensive consultations undertaken with those with an interest or remit in sports provision in the county.
